Yes, I have been lax at updating this blog. But I don’t think anyone reads it anyway…

It’s March 31st. The clocks went forward yesterday, so the evenings are longer. Well, the daylight is at least. Today is sunny and bright. It doesn’t promise to be a very warm day, just 12 degrees or so, but it should be better tomorrow.

We’re expecting a friend from Shetland to visit us tomorrow. We’ve hired a car to go to Madrid airport to pick him up, so that will be a bit of a break as I haven’t been out of this area for months!

At the weekend we went with a friend out in the countryside towards Deleitosa and the mountains to the north to where an ancient Celtic hill fort stands. It was an amazing place! Set on a high ridge that stands between two rivers, Rio Moro and Rio Almonte, it is in the most strikingly beautiful position I think I have ever seen. I’ve included two photos of the hill fort, which bears an uncanny resemblance to a Pictish Broch in many respects.
