Did I say “cool” in my last post? The highs of 30 degrees Celsius of last week are a distant memory - today it’s just 15 C, and it feels like an ice-box here in Extremadura!

Throughout all of last night it rained with constant thunder and lightening flashes. I got little sleep after getting up at 3am to unplug all the electric appliances. Then the crashes and bangs of thunder got louder and louder. It didn’t stop until the sun came up this morning.

The weather people say there’s more of the same to come, which is great news! It’s difficult to work with the power surging most of the time and the constant fear of power cuts, or damage caused by high spikes. But such is life…
